1836 N-3 R1. PCGS graded MS-66 Brown. The obverse is lustrous light chocolate and steel brown with very faded mint color showing through in a few of the protected areas. The reverse is lustrous uniform golden light brown and tan faded from mint red. No spots or stains, only a few microscopic ticks. These are found just right of the eye, on the cheek, and off the lower right point of star 1. LDS with a cud break reaching slightly inside the dentil tips at star 6. In addition there is a fine die crack that arcs from the dentils through the first S in STATES through that letter and the tops of ONE to the left edge of the M and on to the dentils above. This cent has great eye appeal that is consistent with the superior grade assigned by PCGS. Called MS63 and tied for CC#2 in the Noyes census, his photo #36385. Our grade is MS63. The attribution and Nancy & Bryan Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; none finer in BN at PCGS. (PCGS # 37117) Value $4,250 - UP
