1843 N-2 R1 Petite Head, Small Ltrs PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Choice lustrous steel brown and olive with 15% of the obverse and 35% of the reverse showing mint red. A sharp, very attractive cent with only a few minor marks. The notable ones are a small puff of darker toning under star 11, two minor planchet flakes on the front edge of the neck, and a tick on the rim over the A in STATES. EDS, die state a, with all the fine die lines visible and no rim cuds. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#3 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 3 finer in 65. Estimated Value $1,500 - UP
