1795 C-6a R2 No Pole, Plain Edge PCGS graded AU50. Choice glossy medium chocolate brown and steel with a small puff of slightly lighter brown toning in the field before the face. Smooth and void of any notable marks or other defects. Struck over a cut-down Talbot Allum & Lee Cent. Traces of the undertype cent are visible on the lower part of the obverse, especially in the dentils under the date and in the field left of the lower curls. Nicely struck MDS, Manley state 2.0, with a subtle bulge in the field near the dentils right of the Y in LIBERTY. The reverse is slightly misaligned to the bottom while the obverse die is nearly centered on the planchet. A very nice half cent. Our grade is EF40. PCGS #1018. Pop 17; 33 graded higher at PCGS. Estimated Value $3,500 - UP
