Roman Bronze Eagle Appliqué With Detailed Wings. Ca. 2nd-3rd century A.D. Approximately 2.2 inches high by 2 inches wide. Eagle with raised head and spread wings. Head facing right, with defined "dotted eye." Flat back and extended mounting pin. Likely served as an appliqué for a vessel, or as an element in Roman armor. Piece is intact, with no repair/restoration. Nice dark-green patina with minute red highlights. Estimate $600 - 800
