1918, $1 Federal Reserve Bank Note. Philadelphia, PA. . Fr-715. . KL-68. Choice Crisp Uncirculated 63. A popular type featuring the large eagle. There were two issues of large-size Federal Reserve Bank notes-1915 ($5, $10 and $20) and 1918 ($1-$50)-authorized by Federal Reserve Acts of December 23, 1913 and April 23, 1918. Not all banks within the Federal Reserve system issued notes of the first series, but all banks issued notes bearing the series date of 1918. The obligation to pay is made by the individual bank, not by the United States government. Approximately $760 million in notes was issued; only $2 million remain outstanding.
