Arcadius, 383-408 AD. Gold Solidus (4.42 g.), Constantinople mint, c. 397-402 AD. Helmeted three-quarter facing bust, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman only. Reverse: Constantinopolis enthroned frontal, with sceptre and Victory on globe; CONCORDI-A AVGGS, CONOB in exergue. RIC 7 var. Well centered, sharp strike. Minor grafitti on obverse. Very lustrous, in attractive style. Choice Very Fine.
