Lot 3447

Great Britain. Crown, 1936. S.4036; Dav-110; ESC-381; KM-836. George V, 1910-1936. Head of King facing left. Reverse: Large crown enclosed within a wreath of thistles and roses. Designer's initials K.G. (Kruger Gray) below. NGC graded MS-62.

'Wreath' Crown enthusiasts will know that the 1936 is extremely rare in mint state, and this coin is a particularly attractive example, bathed in a delightful golden green tone, with the overall look of a satin finish specimen. Only 2473 Crowns were struck bearing this date and therefore it is the third rarest Crown of the century. Very underrated.
Estimated Value $1,100 - 1,300.
