Lot 3283

Great Britain. Farthing, 1713. Peck-746 (752). Anne. Pattern struck in silver on large blank or planchet. Obverse: Old draped bust of Queen. Reverse: Britannia seated with shield and date 1713. Deep 'toothed' border both sides, edge plain.
This coin is distinguished by prooflike surfaces under a stunning original golden/blue-grey tone. It is barely possible to image a specimen with more eye appeal. peck describes this coin as 'very rare' and explains that the large blanks were chosen in order to give full effect to the broad toothed borders on the dies. The portrait of the Queen is magnificent and one can rest assured that there can only be a handfull of pieces still in existence which can match the sheer quality of this coin. NGC graded Proof 63.
Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,000.

Realized $2,760
