Great Britain. Medal, 1809. Brown-652. George III, 1760-1820. Bronze by P.Wyon. Celebrating 50 years of the King's reign. 52mm diameter. Edge plain. Obverse: Portrait of King wearing decorated coat. Reverse: Angel with wings outstretched, surrounded by the symbols of time. Peter Wyon was the father of William Wyon and engraver of the King's seals. Young William was apprenticed to his father. An unusually high grade example of this historically important medal. NGC graded MS-65 Brown, with photo-certificate.
