Lot 3260

Great Britain. 'Cartwheel' copper Two Pence, 1797. S.3776; KM-619. George III, 1760-1820. Obverse: Draped laureate bust of King right. Reverse: Britannia seated left with shield and trident. Incuse lettering on raised rims both sides. NGC graded MS-64 Brown.

This is a wonderful example of a top grade currency piece with original mint red and luster surrounding the central design, and sharp proof like edges. Of course, an uncirculated currency specimen is rarer than a proof or pattern and this is reflected in the (£1200 British Pounds) current catalogue pricing.
Estimated Value $800 - 1,000.

Realized $1,265
