Miscellaneous, 1956//82, Balance of Collection. Am interesting lot consisting of a State Department briefing book for the 1982 trip of Congressman Bill Nelson and delegation (including Deke) to the Soviet Union in its original 3-ring notebook; a white 3-ring notebook containing a mimeograph copy of what is apparently a memorial book about Deke with copies of photos and other memorabilia, a group of about 35+ different 8x10" black and white copies of AP Wirephoto press release ASTP photos with identifying captions as part of the photo; a "Mercury Astronauts at San Diego, Sept 19-25, 1959" spiral booklet 10x7.5" showing the astronauts during their tour of the Convair/General Dynamics plant in San Diego; various copies and handwritten notes in Deke's hand relating to STS 3-8, Deke's "USAF Experimental Flight Test Pilot's School" 1956 certificate (battered); various 747 maintenance documents, ALT Crew Notes, ALT manuals, some with Deke's original notes AND a copy of the "second Draft" of Philip Kaufman's screenplay of "The Right Stuff" (based on the book by Tom Wolfe (pages loose, may not be complete). ALSO included are video tapes including "Apollo" (7 tapes complete - Apollo 10-17), Reader's Digest/ABC "Space" (3 tapes complete. New), four loose video tapes, a CD of the 2005 Induction Ceremony of the Astronaut Hall of Fame and a rubber handstamp for Deke Slayton's name. A great, diverse and fascinating lot.
