Miscellaneous, 1982, Signed "Conestoga I" Launch Presentation Photo (7.5x11.5", matted to 12x16") The "Conestoga I" was Deke Slayton's first privately owned launch vehicle, developed after he retired from NASA. The white mat surrounding the photo is signed by 11 different people associated with the flight including Max Faget. This is the first signed launch photo of this flight we have seen. Slayton was 20 years ahead of his time with this vehicle. Had he lived, his private launch company would have undoubtedly prospered.
