MAD Magazine Original Illustrated Panel 4: "The Lighter Side of Hot Weather" by 50 Year Veteran of MAD, Dave Berg (1920-2002) Beloved American illustrator and cartoonist known for his celebrated career at MAD magazine after contributing to several comic books in the 1940s including two years with Stan Lee at Timely Comics (now known as Marvel Comics.) Berg contributed to Mad for 46 years beginning in 1957 until his death, appearing in 368 issues. Single panel, 24½ x 18½", with three funny strips: Top strip is husband returning from work drenched begging for sympathy from the wife due to the heat, but when a call for tennis come, ready for action. Center strip remains very timely regarding warnings from a radio news bulletin that the electric grid experiencing overload and possible blackouts due to appliance including A/C and recommending all appliances be shut off including the radio only to say stay tuned. Lower strip are old folks under an umbrella thinking the young people are dancing no realizing the sand is so hot it's burning their feet.
