Great Britain. Shilling, ND. S.2799. Charles I, 1625-1649. Mint mark triangle. Group F. Sixth large Briot's bust. Type 4.4, with lace collar and double arched crown. Reverse Square topped shield over cross.This Civil War period shilling is a selected, fully round specimen which has been carefully made and then retained since the mid-17th century. Delightful pastel blue old cabinet toning complements the traces of original luster. Becoming very scarce this nice. NGC graded AU-55.
