The Proclamation of Emancipation by Abraham Lincoln. 13" x 10" albumen photograph with a chest-length portrait of Lincoln in center oval, surrounded by cabinet members from his first administration; the text of the Emancipation Proclamation is behind Lincoln. Images of Union generals Grant, Sherman, Sheridan, and Thomas are in the corners. Mounted to original 16" x 13" cardstock. Engraved by D.T. Ames in 1863. Very good; minor edge blemishes to photo; mount is toned, with one edge break.
