Lot 31

1842 N-6 R1 Large Date PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty medium brown with tiny peeps of faded mint red in protected areas on the reverse. Looks mint state and the eye appeal is quite nice, but there is a hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. The notable marks are a small tick on the nostril and a speck of darker toning left of star 6, and both marks are trivial. M-LDS, die state c. The earlier die lumps are gone but the additional small lump right of E in ONE has not formed. Our grade is AU58. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 5; 7 finer: 3 in 64, 2 in 65, 2 in 66. Estimated Value $600 - UP
Ex David Bloom 10/8/2011-Colonel Steven K. Ellsworth Collection.
