Exceptionally Rare Invitation to a Service of Intercession for Franklin D. Roosevelt Just Prior to the Inauguration. This is an exceptionally rare invitation to Franklin D. Roosevelt's pre-inauguration service of intercession held in the East Room of the White House. Only members of the President's official family and certain friends were invited to attend. This invitation was sent out and signed in ink by Stephen Early, Secretary to the President, dated January 13th 1945. Last paragraph reads, "May I renew the request made last year that you regard this information concerning the service as strictly confidential. I know I shall have your cooperation."
