1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree Shilling Noe-11 Rarity-4 NGC XF Details, Improperly Cleaned. Variety with no "H" in MASATVSETS and backwards N's. The obverse (tree side) is bright silvery gray and the reverse is a slightly more muted medium bluish steel. No planchet flaws or contact marks. An area of darker toning right of the date is the best identifying mark. The date and denomination are strong and the tree is bold. Struck on a planchet with a larger than normal diameter which allowed complete legends on both sides, although a few letters were softly struck. LDS. Our grade is VF25. Weight shown as 71.0 grains on the NGC label. Listed on page 39 in the "Redbook."
