Lot 297

1851 N-33 R5 PCGS graded XF40. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. The surfaces are smooth and the only notable mark is a thin streak of darker toning from just below the ear to the dentils left of star 1. A relatively modest cent except for the rare die state. EDS, die state a, with sharp repunching under the peak and well below the left base of the first 1. The earliest die state seen of this variety and a coin for the specialist. Our grade is VF20+. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer: 1 in 63, 2 in 64. Estimated Value $125 - UP
