Lot 285

1851 N-21 R3 PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Frosty golden tan with a smudge of slightly darker reddish steel toning at stars 11 & 12. The surfaces are satiny and the eye appeal is nice, but the color is suspect in our opinion. The only marks are some faint hairline scratches on the rim at stars 6-8 and three tiny ticks on the end of the chin. Very sharply struck with full radial lines in all the stars and crisp details in the devices. E-MDS, die state b early. The sharp die lines in the field around ONE CENT are gone and fine die lines at ME have been added. Our grade is MS60 net AU58 and tied for CC#7 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 2 finer: 1 in 64+, 1 in 65. Estimated Value $600 - UP
