1851 N-10 R1 PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Glossy medium brown and light olive blending to medium olive brown in protected areas. Traces of mellowed mint red show on both sides, particularly on the obverse. The only marks are a spot of darker chocolate brown toning on the forehead and a smaller one right of the upper lip. M-LDS, die state b. The earlier die lines and points are gone and there is a tiny lump on the nose before the eye and a larger lump midway between stars 3 & 4. Our grade is MS60, tied for CC#18 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer: 2 in 64, 1 in 64+.
