Three Extremely Scarce Oversized Candid Hollywood Photos at a Very Festive Awards Dinner by "Beatnik" Photographer Earl Leaf. Earl Leaf was a San Francisco raised photographer who was acclaimed war photographer and then began shooting Mid-Century Hollywood. He was well regarded and was nicknamed "The Beatnik Photographer" for his beard and dress. Leaf shot some of the greatest photos of Marilyn Monroe, Robert Mitchum and scores of others, capturing a renegade spirit out of reach of most other photographers. Here are three photos from a festive industry dinner that appears to be at Christmas time, given the candy cane centerpieces. 1.) George Nader (famously outed actor by Confidential Magazine) with beautiful B actress Dani Crayne, for some reason holding one of her shoes. The small band-aid on her foot might be a hint. 2.) Anna Maria Alberghetti, knockout Italian singer and film and stage actress is having her temples rubbed by Western Star, Ben Cooper (JOHNNY GUITAR and scores of B Westerns) 3.) The last is of Russ Tamblyn, nominated for an Oscar for PEYTON PLACE but so well known as the phenomenal actor and dancer in SEVEN BRIDES for SEVEN BROTHERS and WEST SIDE STORY, clowning around with a drink in hand and a lit cigarette dangling from (under) his lip.
