Lot 258

1850 N-28 R3- PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Frosty light olive blending to medium olive brown in protected areas. Possibly recolored long ago but this is an attractive, satiny cent with just a few minor marks. A very light rim bruise at TE in UNITED and a puff of darker toning on the N in ONE are the notable marks. Nicely struck E-MDS, die state a, with a nearly vertical line inside the bottom of the E in ONE. Our grade is AU58, CC#5 for the variety in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 3 finer in 64. Estimated Value $300 - UP
