Marilyn Monroe: Iconic Subway Grate Photo THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH by Garry Winogrand. Garry Winogrand (1928-1984) proved one of America's most celebrated photographers of U.S. life and its social issues in the mid-20th century most especially capturing the streets of New York City. His themes were unmistakable. In 1955 he was at the 1955 press event on the set of THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH capturing a number of iconic stills as Marilyn Monroe stood atop a subway grate, a most memorable scene in the film as she and Tom Ewell exited a theater showing THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON. This is a highly sought, vintage original, estate issued re-strike silver gelatin print issued in 1984 under the supervision of Garry Winogrand, copyrighted, executed, stamped and signed in pencil on verso by the executor Eileen Adele Hale. Image is approximately 15¾ x 10¾" with the sheet 17 x 14". In near to mint condition. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
