Jewish Coinage. The Bar Kokhba War, 132-135 CE. AR Tetradrachm (or Sela; 13.69 g) dated Year 2 (133-134 CE). Tetrastyle façade of the Temple of Jerusalem; within the middle of the Temple interior, the Ark of the Covenant in chest form; around, Palaeo-Hebrew inscription "Jerusalem". Reverse: Lulav thrice bound; to left, etrog; around, Palaeo-Hebrew inscription "Year 2 of the Freedom of Israel". Mild 7 [only 8 examples cited]; AJC 229 (for type); H-1385. Very rare and highly desirable type. Lustrous; bold strike. Virtually Mint State.

This is one of the very finest specimens using the hybrid die pairing of the first obverse die of the extremely rare year one emissions with a dated year two reverse die. All of the year one/year two die hybrids total only 21 in the Mildenberg corpus.
