Kingdom of Macedon. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.84 g) likely minted at Babylon, c. 311-305 BC. Head right of Herakles, wearing lion's skin headdress. Reverse: Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, sickle(?). Price 3768. High relief; About Extremely Fine.

This is an attractive representative of the massive issues of the successors of Alexander the Great at Babylon. Literally millions and millions of tetradrachms were minted to fulfill the immense demand for the military, including payment arrears.
