Lot 241

1850 N-14 R4 PCGS graded AU58, CAC Approved. Very attractive glossy medium brown with slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. Mint frost covers the fields and this cent has mint state eye appeal in spite of light friction on the highpoints. The only notable mark is a speck of corrosion of verdigris nestled inside the U in UNITED. MDS, die state c, with flowlined fields but no rim cuds on the reverse. Our grade is EF45+, close to AU50, and tied for CC#13 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 4 finer: 2 in 63, 1 in 64, 1 in 65+. Estimated Value $200 - UP
Ex Ed Hipps 9/1984-Colonel Steven K. Ellsworth Collection.
