Brigadier General A.B. McDaniel's Heavy Overcoat. Olive green, belted coat with black service stripes on sleeves. General McDaniel (1895-1943) was an Air Force general and an aviation pioneer who was one of the first to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross. He served as chief of staff of the Caribbean Air Force (later Sixth Air Force) at Albert Field in the Panama Canal Zone (1941-42) and commanded the III Air Support Command (later III Reconnaissance Command) at Birmingham Army Air Base. He suffered a fatal heart attack in 1943. From a military uniform exhibit in Branson, Mo. Estimate Value $250 - 500
