Lot 2295

1846 N-9 R2. MS-62. Lustrous golden light brown with delicate hints of sea-green and light bluish steel overtone. The surfaces are satiny and the eye appeal is outstanding for the grade. Would be choice except for a barely visible hairline scratch on the temple near the hair and faint traces of an old fingerprint in the obverse fields. Sharply struck very early die state, die state a. This is the earliest state seen and most of the reverse is covered with microscopic die lines. Finest known of the early die state.
Estimated Value $500 - 750.

Realized $748
