The volume is made up of three parts. In the first part, Jerome Folard, representing the community of merchants, describes the importance of business in Avignon and the surrounding region and emphasizes the advantage of having a tribunal to judge mercantile causes; the second is the official document setting up the tribunal; and the third part establishes the statutes of the tribunal by François Nicolini.
