1874 Dollar Octagonal Indian. Breen and Gillio-1124. High Rarity 4. PCGS graded MS-64. One of several examples of this variety provided us by the consignor, the fields and devices are predominantly untoned. This appealing near gem specimen stretches the limites of its grade with dazzling mirrorlike surfaces that compare favorably with the MS65 example listed in the PCGS roster. An attractive example of this highly sought after variety. Variety discovered by David Proskey or John W. Scott and first published in 1884. One of the top nine examples certified by PCGS. Pop 8; 1 finer in 65 (PCGS # 10935) .
