Lot 2081

1907. High relief, Roman numerals, wire rim. PCGS graded MS-64. CAC. PQ. This coins should be regraded to MS-65. A wonderful coin that shows the full depth of the strength of the huge medal press that required multiple strikes to bring up the designs of these Saint-Gaudens masterpieces. The three dimensional effect required considerable metal to move into the dies to fill the huge wings on the eagle, Liberty's knee and all the fine nuances of the design. Studying a coin like this is a treat for the collector who can understand the mastery of this epic project to get these beautiful coins into production. Only 11,250 struck (PCGS # 9135) Estimate Value $30,000 - 33,000
