Rare Communist Bulgaria Officer's Naval Dagger. Original dagger and strap that belonged to a Bulgarian officer who served at National Navy during communist period 1960-70. Because the Bulgarian Navy was not at all large, such daggers are hard to find. This is the early model Bulgarian dagger known by the blue textile padding of belt and hangers. The latter 1970s model is with full leather belt. The early model dagger is known for it a bit more rough metal parts.
Blade is almost perfect and gleaming, the grip is simulated white ivory material centered on both sides with of brass geometric design with a five pointed star on pommel. Scabbard is leather with brass chape and locket with details of an anchor on one side and sailing ship on verso. Overall in excellent condition. Dagger is 13" long and scabbard is 9" long.
