1806 S-270 R1. PCGS graded AU-58. CAC. Choice frosty tan and light brown with darker steel brown toning on the highpoints of the devices. A cent with great eye appeal showing just a hint of friction on the highpoints and mint luster in the fields and protected areas. The only marks are a tiny vertical scratch right of the date and a shallow rim nick over the T in LIBERTY. M-LDS, Breen state III late, with a couple die cracks on the obverse and dull die clashmarks on both sides. This cent is plated three times with three different grades in the Noyes photo project (photos #29913, 85018, and 63365 with grades ranging from EF40 to AU50 depending on the sharpness of the photo). Our grade is AU50+, very close to AU55. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Great Pacific Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
