Lot 198

1804 S-266a R4+. PCGS graded VF-30. Glossy light chocolate brown and steel. The surfaces are smooth, void of any hint of corrosion or verdigris, and the eye appeal is excellent. Nicely struck with only light, even wear and trivial contact marks. The best identifying marks are a dull diagonal nick close off the bottom of the chin and a small spot of lighter tan toning near the dentils right of the D in UNITED. EDS, Breen state I, before any die cracks or cud breaks. A very nice example of this tough date. Graded VF30 net VF25 by Noyes, his photo #39648. Not seen by Bland. Our grade is VF25. The attribution and Great Pacific Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 9 finer: 1 in 35, 1 in 40, 2 in 45, 1 in 50, 1 in 53, 2 in 55, 1 in 63. (PCGS # 36422) Value $10,000 - UP
