1869, $20 United States Note. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66EPQ. . Fr-127. . KL-526. The Rainbow series of 1869 is characterized by the beautiful array of bright colors throughout the design, and it is never so apparent as on a nice example of the $20 denomination. The colors on this example of nothing short of spectacular, and the overall appeal is simply stunning. The note appears to be completely original through the holder, and the margins, although a trifle tight at the right, are fully ample for the assigned grade. A spectacular example of this beautiful and desirable type, a note that could fetch a winning bid well in excess of our perhaps conservative estimate if the current pace of the current market and the demand for high grade type notes is any guide.
