1938-D Oregon Trail Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-68. Superb quality! The toning must be seen to be believed, the centers are a delicate rose shade, which evolves to a luminous blue as you near the edge of the coin, the color changes to flaming yellow. Of course the surfaces are absolutely pristine, with nary a tick to be found anywhere. The strike, too, is superb. As to the PCGS Population Report we see that 10 have been so graded, with a single coin graded higher. We doubt that any could possess the alluring color scheme offered here. If you want a spectacular coin for your commemorative set, then view this coin and expect to pay a worthwhile premium to secure it at the sale.
