Dutch Coat of Arms Early 19th Century Oil on Board in Original Frame. Beautifully rendered Dutch coat of arms for the Geertuyt Coesvelt clan. Painted on board 12 x 9¼" and in remarkably fine condition. In original frame which assisted in the dating of this piece, tongue and grooved construction of fine walnut frame with nice detail with painted panel held in place with 12 square cut nails (more rectangular than square) on verso. Hanging loop on verso in a style we have not seen before. Overall piece measures 15¾ x 13¼". A strong case where the frame likely more valuable than the work. Very handsome piece in fine condition.
