Dawes, Charles G (1865-1951) American statesman; shared Nobel Peace prize in 1925; Vice President under Calvin Coolidge. Autograph Letter Signed as Comptroller of the Currency, on Treasury Department stationery, 3½pp, Washington, D.C., 1898 Nov. 23. Light soiling to signature page, else fine. To his father, sending "the text of my first annual report to Congress" [not present], and with Washington news, including a theatre party with Mrs. McKinley, and being invited to the White House for Thanksgiving.
