Ptolemaic Kingdom. Ptolemy IV Philopator. Silver Tetradrachm (13.72 g), 222-205/4 BC. Alexandria, ca. 217-215/0 BC. Jugate busts of Zeus-Serapis, laureate and draped, and Isis, wreathed and draped, right; small cap of Osiris above Serapis, globe and horns above Isis. Reverse: BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΠTOΛEMAIOY, eagle standing left, head right, on thunderbolt, filleted cornucopia at shoulder; between legs, ΔI. Svoronos 1124; Landvatter Group 4, cf. 13-22 (O4/R-; rev. die not recorded); SNG Copenhagen 197-8. Rare. Boldly struck with excellent detail and perfectly centered. Lightly toned with an area of horn-silver present on the upper reverse. Choice Very Fine. Estimate Value $1,500 - 2,000
