Lot 19

1841 N-3 R2 NGC graded MS65 Brown. Lustrous olive and bluish steel with faded mint red showing in protected areas on the reverse. Satiny and very attractive. The only marks, and they are microscopic, are a tiny planchet chip on the lower left point of star 4, an even smaller chip left of star 11, another over the second S in STATES (all as struck), plus a speck of carbon under the right side of the N in CENT. LDS, die state d, with flowlined fields and all the die cracks described by Grellman. Our grade is MS62, tied for CC#3 in the Grellman census. Comes with a very nice provenance. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. NGC population 1; the finest in BN at both services. Estimated Value $2,500 - UP
