Carlu, Jean "America's Answer! Production" One of the Greatest WWII Homefront Posters (1900-1997) Jean Carlu, born and died in France spent the years of World War II in the United States, where he executed a number of important WWII poster designs. "America's Answer! Production" for the U.S. government's war effort at home. Carlu's design earned him the top award from New York Art Director’s Club Exhibition in 1941. It remains today one of the most popular by collectors. We are pleased to offer a vintage original example of this poster, rolled, never folded in Fine ++ condition. A one inch tear held in check by acid free tape on verso on right side, and a tiny soil spot in left corner is all that keeps this piece from being graded mint. Poster measures 30 x 38" and in many galleries and can command several thousand dollars. Estimate $900 - 1,500
