Raphia. Gordian III. Æ 21 (9.96 g), AD 238-244. CY 300 (AD 240/1). Legend mostly indistinct, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III right. Reverse: [PA]ΦIA, pphinx seated left, forepaw on wheel; in right field, date ([T]). Yashin 509-10; Rosenberger 27-8. Rare. Dark brown patina with orange-earthen highlights. Very Fine.
