1782 Pennsylvania Packet With Haym Salomon Advertisement. May 18, 1782, 4-page issue, 15" x 9½". With back-page advertisement for Haym Salomon, broker, on Front Street, buying and selling bills of exchange of France and other parts of Europe. Salomon was a great patriot and gave up most of his personal wealth to Congress t support the American troops during the Revolution. He and his family never recovered any of the great sums that he donated. Paper also has a large fishing-tackle ad, by Edward Pole; he also advertises military stores for privateers and other armed vessels. Rough edge tears and old paper reenforcemt, as well as smalal damp-staining on front page at upper left corner, else good.
