Roman Republic, 58 B.C.E., Nabataean King Aretas kneels beside camel, commemorates defeat of this ally of John Hyrcanus II by Pompey's general Marcus Scaurus (H-740, Syd. 913). Judaea Capta, 69-70 C.E., Laureate rt. head of Vespasian; reverse: mourning woman (Judaea personified) seated to the right of Roman trophy, IVDAEA below (H-759, BMC 35). Another similar coin but trophy replaced by palm tree (H-761, BMC 43). Each Fine.
