Lot of 3 Denarii, 58 B.C.E.-69/70 C.E., "Rex Aretas" Republic, two Judaea Capta Varieties. Roman Republic, 58 B.C.E., Nabataean King Aretas kneels beside camel, commemorates defeat of this ally of John Hyrcanus II by Pompey's general Marcus Scaurus (H-740, Syd. 913). Judaea Capta, 69-70 C.E., Laureate rt. head of Vespasian; reverse: mourning woman (Judaea personified) seated to the right of Roman trophy, IVDAEA below (H-759, BMC 35). Another similar coin but trophy replaced by palm tree (H-761, BMC 43). Each Fine.
