1848 N-22 R1 NGC graded MS65 Brown. Frosty light olive and steel brown blending to darker bluish steel and reddish chocolate faded down from mint color in the protected areas. Traces of the faded mint red are visible on both sides, mostly on the obverse. Just a couple trivial ticks including two tiny ones on the lower edge of the bust above the 8. The best identifying mark is a bit of darker bluish steel toning around the left side of the R in AMERICA. LDS, die state e, with a strong horizontal line through the top of N in ONE. Our grade is MS62, tied for CC#2 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. NGC population 2; none finer in BN at either service.
