Burr, Aaron - Manuscript Document Signed (1756-1836) Third Vice President of the United States (1801-1805), best known for killing Alexander Hamilton in an 1804 duel. Burr was charged with treason and tried in 1807. Although he was acquitted, he went to Europe for four years. When he returned in 1812, he returned to his law practice. Manuscript document signed "A. Burr" as attorney for the defendant in the case of Peter Bradwell and his brothers vs. Eliphalet Wilkes, the administrator of the estate of their brother John, who died intestate, one page, 9¾ x 7¾", Circuit Court of the United States in the second Circuit in and for the New York District, Nov. 1, 1815. Good to very good; aesthetics affected by heavy wear, toning, edge chips, and tape repairs on verso, none of which affects Burr's bold signature. Estimate $500 - 600
