1855-C. NGC graded AU-58. Nice golden toning. Clean surfaces with just a few scattered light nicks when closely studied, and the expected striking softness on the LL of DOLLAR and the top of the 8 below. A classic rarity from the Charlotte Mint which offers the desirable and short-lived Type 2 design of the Gold dollar as well as all the history and romanace of the Charlotte Mint. Only 9,803 struck. Pop 36; 17 finer, 4 in 60, 8 in 61, 1 in 61+, 4 in 62. (PCGS # 7533) .
