$5 Gold Liberty. 1871-S. SEGS graded AU-50 Obverse scratch. A light yellow gold example of this scarce San Francisco half eagle. Only 25,00 pieces were minted and choice AU survivors are few and far between. Probably best described as a nice AU53 piece with scratch between stars 3 and 4 extending 75% of the way towards Liberty's device.
