Kushano-Sasanian. Vima Kadphises. Gold Double Dinar (15.75 g), ca. AD 100/5-127/8. Bilingual series. Main Baktrian mint. Vima Kadphises enthroned facing, head left, feet on footstool, holding branch; in left field, club; in right field, tamgha. Reverse: ithyphallic three-headed Siva standing facing, holding trident in right hand, left arm resting on the bull Nandi, who stands right behind; in left field, Buddhist triratana symbol ('Three Jewels'). Cf. MK 11/3 (obv./rev.), otherwise unpublished. Interesting variety with Siva facing instead of head left. Superb Extremely Fine. Estimated Value $20,000 - UP
